Our system was sporadically offline this afternoon due to a power outage at the Tucson datacenter where we colocate our servers. Normally their UPS (uninterruptible power supply) provisions with on-site power generators would handle such events seamlessly, but in this case they'd discovered their UPS had failed into bypass mode a few days ago, and fixing it apparently required cutting power entirely. We're a bit perturbed (to put it mildly) that they decided to schedule this maintenance for mid-afternoon on a weekday without giving any advance notice, but suffice to say this is yet another reason why we're already investigating strategies to migrate E-junkie to more reliable hosting provisions.

Thanks for the update. Yes, they may not realize the havoc this can cause. Just today, we wrapped up the biggest online sale we've ever had which relied 100% on Ejunkie. Thank GOD the power outage happened after our sale had ended, however, there was still a ton of publicity and people wanting to purchase the products even after the sale was over. I literally had people emailing me saying they were trying to make a purchase but couldn't. There is no doubt this outage lost us sales. Please relay this message not to take this kind of thing lightly. They are playing with people's livelihoods. Thank you Ejunkie Crew for staying on top of this!!!
