PayPal is reporting that a small number of Direct Payment checkouts (payments via PayPal Pro using a credit card) may be failing with a "10001 Internal Error". If a buyer reports this problem, you can inform them it's a temporary glitch at PayPal's end, and suggest they can either keep trying or just use a different checkout method such as using their PayPal account (for which PayPal Pro Express Checkouts should be working fine).

RESOLVED: This issue has been resolved as of Jun 09, 4:40 PM PDT (Jun 10, 12:40 AM BST). Posted Jun 09, 4:48 PM PDT by MC

2 years later

This matter might not be resolved at all. This error is consistent at EVERY transaction with the PayPal Pro Live API using credit cards on my domain.

Sofar the site has lost roughly 130 attempted checkouts.

Every time the log on my site says:

"<b>Authorization only failed.</b><br /><b>Error:</b> 10001: Internal Error"

I'm using Drupal 7.15 with the Ubercart module v3.1.

Any idea if it can be cause by the above mentioned?

Since you mention Ubercart, it's not clear if you're using our E-junkie Shopping Cart at all? If you are using E-junkie cart buttons on your site, please double-check every step of our integration procedure for PayPal Payments Pro:

If you're not using E-junkie, this is the E-junkie support forum, so unfortunately we won't be able to help with your issue and would suggest posting your issue to the Ubercart support forum instead:

I am not using the E-junkie Cart at all, but after doing some digging in the issues I've been having. The problems lie in PayPal and their VERY unstable API servers.

Secondary to the "Internal error", I'm also getting "Country not supported"

What Paypal fails to mention, when people outside of US, Canada and UK upgrade their memberships to PRO, is that the PayPal PRO credit card payment features are not supported in their countries.

Hope this can sheds light for other people getting this same problem.

Now i need to find an alternative to direct payment via PayPal, althought their PayPal Express works fine.
