We've updated our new integration with Mailchimp to support sending buyer information to specific lists based on the products ordered.

If you wish to use this new feature you will first need to follow the existing steps given here to connect your E-junkie account with Mailchimp:

Once that has been completed you will be able to edit any of your existing products and assign a specific Mailchimp list to be updated when they are purchased, by clicking the green "Mailchimp Integration" button located in the new "Built In Integrations" section.

(If you are creating a brand new product please submit all of your other settings and then edit it to see the Mailchimp button)

This option will only be available if you've already entered your Mailchimp API and a default/fallback mailing list in your account preferences.

The product list will be updated whenever that product is ordered, instead of the list set within your preferences screen. The list ID given in your preferences screen will only be updated if the order contains products that haven't been assigned to a different list.

One more thing: bear in mind our new MailChimp integration will only submit buyers to MC who have deliberately ticked the opt-in checkbox to subscribe to your newsletter. For direct card payments, we provide this opt-in box on our card checkout screen.

However, for buyers who go through PayPal checkout, we can currently only provide this opt-in box after checkout on our new thank-you/download pages. To check whether our new thank-you pages are enabled for your account (and enable them if not), sign into Seller Admin and click Try New Features in the top header.

We've had a few suggestions to put the opt-in box in our shopping cart before checkout, which seems like a good idea, so Development will be taking that into consideration while they are currently working on the next major revision to our cart.

Is there somewhere we can see what this new thank you page looks like? I specifically am interested in what the "check here to join mailing list" option looks like since on the old version I get very few opt ins because it's easy to miss. I'm not sure why on your opt in page you show the thank you page so small and blurred out?? It's kind of useless for deciding if one wants to use it.

Thank-you pages are generated on-demand when they are viewed, so once you enable the new-style thank-you page for your account -- you can always undo this later if you don't like it -- you can then view your E-junkie Transaction Log and click any Transaction ID there to bring up the thank-you page we'd generate for that order based on your current settings at that moment.

BTW, if you are selling a product which is itself a subscription to receive further emails, or a pre-order for a download or other content to be delivered by email later, we can enable a "soft opt-in" for such products -- i.e., an automatic subscription opt-in implicit by the fact they knowingly chose to purchase a subscription or pre-order product -- so those buyers won't also need to opt-in manually. Just contact us to let us know which product(s) should be soft opt-ins.
