Bulletin: Important information regarding the new PayPal/American Express agreement
Posted by PayPal_Updates on Oct 18, 2010 3:33:23 PM
Hello,
Starting on October 19th, Website Payments Pro and Virtual Terminal accounts that have not accepted the American Express agreement will be unable to process American Express transactions. If you have not accepted the agreement and you would like to continue accepting American Express payments, please log in to your account today and accept the new terms.
Important note: The new agreement affects only American Express transactions. Other credit cards and PayPal payments can continue to be processed as normal. Also, you have the ability to opt-in or opt-out of the American Express agreement at any time by clicking "American Express card acceptance" under Selling Preferences within your account.
New terms include new pricing
American Express has set a new pricing structure for our Website Payments Pro and Virtual Terminal merchants that is aligned with its industry standard pricing. Changes to your pricing will take effect immediately upon acceptance.
If you receive an Amex payment and have not accepted the new agreement, you will receive one of the following errors:
PayPal: API error 10566 (The credit card type is not supported)
Payflow: Result code: 25 Invalid Host Mapping
