PayPal has posted the following notice of a disruption in PayPal checkouts and IPN (Instant Payment Notifications) today.



Since we depend on IPN to receive order data along with confirmation of completed payments from PayPal, any delayed IPNs would have delayed our ability to process affected orders until PayPal caught up with their IPN backlog.

UPDATE 1: Between Sep 23, 3:57 PM PDT (Sep 23, 11:57 PM BST) and Sep 23, 5:27 PM PDT (Sep 24, 1:27 AM BST), merchants may have experienced:



Higher response time and/or timeouts making ExpressCheckout and other API calls

Delays in receiving Instant Payment Notifications ( IPNs )



Users may have experienced higher response time or timeouts during checkout.



Although API and website response time have improved, we continue to experience higher than normal latency. Our technical teams are engaged and actively working towards resolving the issue.
