Hi,

I have a product launch scheduled in a week (I've sent yesterday an email to 4000 leads regarding it's launch date) and I'm facing a major issue.

I live in Brazil and I've always used E-Junkie with no problems, however just yesterday when I tried to test the payment system an error message from PayPal said "Payments from brazilian customers to brazilian merchants must be in BRL". BRL is brazilian's currency.

Originally the transfer would be in USD and PayPal would make the conversion for both sides, just like it will do most of the time.

Now I simply don't know what do, since E-Junkie doesn't support BRL. I've been researching about this for the last 24 hours.

I've tried some of the following...

1. Check if brazilian PayPal clone, PagSeguro, can be used to make payments via E-Junkie (couldn't find the answer, don't know if if can be integrated)

2. Check if there's any way to accept Payments via PagSeguro or PayPal, then give customers a one-time 100% discount code to be used in E-Junkie's shopping cart (however I don't know how can this be automated and it will be too much trouble for the customer)

3. Check if there's any way via E-Junkie to use PayPal in BRL instead of USD using the "currency_code" variable (tried to, but couldn't do it)

4. Research other digital goods systems (none have PDF stamping and affiliate systems)

Will any of the above work? Do you have any other suggestions?

I really appreciate any help. I wasn't expecting for this to happen.

(And the funny thing is that Brazil is a 200 million people country with widespread internet access and we don't have any E-Junkie-like solution to sell digital goods, and now not even BRL support here. If you guys at E-Junkie can manage to fix this, you'll tap into a huge market.)

Take care.

-Roberto Riccio

It appears that PayPal does now support BRL, so we should be able to support pricing set in that currency. However, adding that currency option to Seller Admin would need to wait for the next version of Seller Admin we've been working on, so I'll put that request on our wishlist to make sure Development is aware of it.

Meanwhile, it looks like we should be able to set your products' pricing currency to BRL for you by modifying their records in our database manually. The catch to this is that you won't be able to edit your product settings after we do this -- well, technically you could, but it would result in the edited product becoming un-orderable until we re-add the BRL currency setting manually again. We can apply this currency setting for your initial setup and to fix the occasional need to edit a product, but we cannot feasibly offer to extend this favor on a routine or ongoing basis.

If this would be acceptable to you until our new Seller Admin is ready, go ahead and set up your products and test with USD, then let us know when you're ready to have them changed to BRL.

Wow, that's why E-Junkie rocks.

I'll make all the necessary changes and I'll let you know when you can change the currency to BRL.

Thanks!

Hi,

I've made all the changes I need to. I've set the BRL prices I need to charge, you can now change them from USD to BRL. (Note: product name is Sit and Win, id #915932)

I'd also like to know if discount codes will work normally (percentage discount) and if I can edit them later, or if this will cause any problem.

Regarding affiliates, just to confirm, will they be paid in BRL then? And can I edit the product-specific affiliate program later as well?

And finally, will going to product details (without saving, pressing Back afterwards), to get button codes and stuff like that, cause any changes?

Thanks a lot for your help,

-Roberto Riccio

To confirm your identity and attend to the currency-change request, we would need you to email our Support team your E-junkie account password, or your original activation code would suffice if you still have your original "Account information" email from us. It's just that one product that needs to be set in BRL, correct?

Discounts should work normally, as that doesn't really take currency into account and just treats cart prices as arbitrary figures.

Affiliate commissions, however, off the top of our heads we're not quite sure about, so I've asked Development to look into that.

Hi Guru,

I just sent an email to Support with the activation code.

Yes, it's just that one product that needs to be set in BRL.

Thanks for the affiliate info as well.

Please let me know when you've made the change.

Take care,

-Roberto Riccio

Hey Guru,

Our launch is on Monday, do you think the guys will be able to make the currency change by then?

Sorry to bother, it's just that I'm a bit anxious about the whole thing. :)

Thanks again!

-Roberto Riccio

Hi Roberto,

Our development team is working on this issue right now, and they will be in touch via email once everything's taken care of.

Hi guys,

I've seen you set it up to BRL, but I'm having problems.

I've just tried to make two test payments from different PayPal accounts and it is not working. I make the payment in BRL, but then E-Junkie can't confirm it, and so it shows a page where it says payment wasn't confirmed! And it won't let the user download the ebook.

Please let me know what's the problem and/or fix it as soon as possible.

I really need a quick help here, my launch is today and I have lots of clients waiting to purchase this product.

Thanks for your understanding and for your fast assistance,

-Roberto Riccio

Guru,

Thanks one more time for suck a kick-ass support.

I followed the steps outlined in the Troubleshooting.

I had the IPN notification disabled. Now everything seems to be working properly.

Apologies for the delay in attending to your request. Development needs to change your products' currency setting in our database manually, so it's possible your email ticket request simply dropped off their radar. I'll send a reply to your email request, which should bump your ticket to the top of their stack again.

Hey guru,

I thank you for taking time out to reply my post and greatly appreciate the assistance you have provided me. hope my problem be resolved soon.Thank you again.

Hi Guru,

Coming back to your info from 2011:

E-junkieGuruIt appears that PayPal does now support BRL, so we should be able to support pricing set in that currency. However, adding that currency option to Seller Admin would need to wait for the next version of Seller Admin we've been working on, so I'll put that request on our wishlist to make sure Development is aware of it.

It seems that BRL is still not available? Or there is any other setting that I would need to change to make it visible for me?

I do have many products, and some of them are added and deleted constantly, as they are customized to the client, so it would not work for both of us to change manually the currency each time, as it was done for the users above.

Thanks for your support!
