On some, but not all, of my uploaded files, the file name is changed upon download. For example, my product with name/title entered on ejunkie as Pretty Pantaloons for Dolly but with the PDF named dollyspantaloons.pdf, downloads as dollyspantaloons.pdf. BUT, my product named The Butterfly Dress with PDF named TDDButterflyDress.pdf downloads as The_Butterfly_Dress.pdf. I don't want these to change, why is it happening?

If the file is uploaded to our server, the downloaded file name will match either your original, as-uploaded file name, or the product's Item Name, whichever is shorter.

If the file is a Remotely Hosted file, the file name at the end of your Remote Product File URL will be retained as-is for the buyer's download. For example if the location ends with product1.pdf, it would produce a file with the name product1.

If the file name has any spaces or symbols that are forbidden in file names on any platform ( \ / ? & * | : < > ' ; ), those will be replaced by an underscore ( _ ) in the downloaded file name, and all letters will be normalized to all-lowercase, so a file upload originally named Mom&Dad's Recipes v1.0.pdf will become mom_dad_s_recipes_v1.0.pdf when the buyer downloads their copy.
