If a customer selects Canada and enters a postal code (I've verified with V5Z 2N7, H3Z 2H3 and H3W 3C2), the shipping charges do not appear. Instead "-error-" is displayed.

Past customers from Canada (in some of the above postal codes) have been OK. I don't believe I've changed anything in a while.

And is UPS Ground available to Canada? When I choose UPS Ground in a shipping rule, Country becomes United States and is grayed out.

We are experiencing the same thing, perhaps somehow related to Canada postal strike? I tried to add UPS for Canada several days ago to work around the USPS delays and encountered the same issue described in your follow-up post - unable to choose Canada in Country once UPS is chosen as shipping method.

Our Canadian customers have indicated in the past the UPS is much better service for them due to customs delays with USPS-Canada Post. E-J techs PLEASE get this sorted soon, and add UPS as an option for Canada.

Thanks!

Brian

Hello,

The UPS ground calculator only works for deliveries within the US, although the shipping settings regarding that calculator are bugged and do not allow you to restrict the rule to the United States specifically. That is a known issue slated to be fixed when our interface is updated.

However, the larger issue remains that the UPS calculator cannot be used for Canadian orders at all. There is no work around for this, this is an incompatibility between our system and UPS', and at this time we do not have any plans to expand on the shipping calculators that are already available.

We recommend using different methods of calculating shipping for your orders, it is still possible to use UPS as a shipping carrier, and you can use packaging costs or shipping rules based on weight or quantity to apply a cost of your setting to any order shipping to Canada or a different country.

Thanks, I created a set of shipping rules for Canada based on weight that come pretty close to rates quoted on the UPS site. It is unfortunate that you are unable to develop better integration for this but at least we have a workaround...

Brian

We tried to improve that integration in the past but things didn't work out very well with UPS, but I'm glad to hear that you were able to define your own costs in a way that covers your shipping expenses.

However, I have tried to create a USPS (US Postal Service) rule to Canada - and it still produces and error. ALL other countries calculate, but Canada will not.

Hello,

My apologies, I should have updated this thread about that particular issue -- at the moment USPS is not taking shipments to Canada because of the Canadian postal strike. That is why no result is being returned from the USPS website when our cart queries them for a cost on Canadian orders.

That problem should fix itself when the postal strike up north is sorted out, but in the meantime you may wish to use a different form of calculation, not to mention a different form of shipping to Canadian addresses.
