I have an item in my store that is a bundle of 5 other tangible items in my store. When a customer ordered this product, it sent an email telling her where she could download it, but without any links (since they are tangible goods). I think I may have had a message listed for them initially, but I have since gone through and confirmed that all messages are blank for the 5 items and the bundled item, and yet she still received the email. It is confusing for a customer to get a download message for tangible items-- how can I un-trigger this email message?

Go to Seller Admin>View/Edit/Delete Products, select one of the five products and click Edit. Check to see if the first option, Single File Download has a check mark in the box. If it does remove the check and then click next until you can Submit the changes. Repeat this for the other four products and the bundle product itself.

Sorry, I forgot to include that information in my first post-- I confirmed that all of those were unchecked as well. But it still sends the download email. The fields that have values are as follows:

Name - filled in with name

Inventory control - checked

Shipping / Buyer's address - checked

Let buyers edit quantity in cart - checked

Price - filled in with price

Currency - default of U.S. Dollars

Email Subject - default of [%item_name%] Purchase

Receive a copy of email sent to buyer - checked

Item number - filled in with item number

All other settings on the first page are blank. Each item has these same settings, except for the bundle which has "Package files from other products..." checked instead of Inventory control. Do I need to blank out the Email Subject and uncheck Receive a copy of email? I thought those were defaults and wouldn't affect the sending or not sending.

You should not need to blank out the Email Subject nor uncheck "Receive a copy", since those are only relevant if an email is actually being sent. Does the email sent actually mention a download, or might you be referring to your Common Thank-you Email that gets sent for every order, regardless of which product(s) the buyer purchases:

Dear [%first_name%],

Thank you for your purchase. Your Invoice ID is [%invoice%].

Your can view your order details at

[%thankyou_link%]

Sincerely,

[%business_name%]

You can go to Seller Admin > Account Preferences and edit your Common Thank-you Email, or just delete it to disable that message entirely.

If this does not resolve your concern, please reply to tell us which of your products is the bundled product having the problem.

The text of the email (with customer name removed) is below. No download link, just the download message:

Dear *****,

You can download file(s) for All Five Patterncards at

Please note, download link(s) will expire after 120 hours from now or after 5 attempts, which ever event happens first.

How strange! I'll bring this to Development's attention to look into a bugfix. Meanwhile, try ticking the Enable Templated Email box in the bundle product's settings and leave the Email Message field above that blank.

Tyson,

This email situation for bundled products has had this bug for the past 12 months or more. I remember when we used the bundled products option but had to stop because of the confusion it led to with our customers.

If you could work out this bug for us tangible item sellers, that would be great!
