Hi, as a user from Germany I need to send to each buyer the Terms & Conditions and the Cancellation Rights via email. One awesome way would be if I could attach a standard pdf with this information to the thank-you message from ejunkie. Is this possible?

Alternatively I thought about doing this on the downloads page by just adding few pages at the end of the book. But this does not fulfil the legal requirements. The user needs to receive these Terms & Conditions even if they do not download the book.

Alternatively I can paste this text into the thank-you email, but then the message will be 10 pages long...

I am open to any practical suggestions  Thank you for the great product and your help!

Unfortunately it is not possible to attach a file to the emails we send out, but you can insert a link to such a document that you've hosted on your own site (this can also be done from your thank you pages as well). That can be a link to a downloadable PDF or just a page that explains the full terms and conditions along with easy ways to print or download that text. We've never added a file attachment option because that's an insecure way to deliver files and we focus on delivering everything via our limited download links for protection.

If it absolutely has to be within an email sent out after purchase you might want to consider using an autoresponder service such as AWeber or MailChimp -- we can automatically add your buyers to a mailing list you have with services like those so that they can send out the document with the terms, either in an easier to read format than just plain-text or as an attachment:

Thank you very much for your quick response. I will look into the options you listed. My only concern is that I don't want to send an email just with terms & conditions as it is quite confusing for the customer. And already the customer gets a few emails from paypal, ejunkie, etc. But maybe there is a nice option with aweber etc.

I am also considering paste the text into ejunkie's thank-you message. Is there a length limitation?

Thank you!

I'm not sure what the limit would be on length for emails but we don't recommend filling them with lots of text because that makes it very likely that a spam filter will throw the whole thing out.

If this is for a downloadable product you can test the email message for that item with the Send Free Download Link function, that would allow you to see whether or not the full text fits in an email and how it will look without having to go through an entire test order.

An update in case future users have the same question: The 5-page-long terms & conditions text displays perfectly in ejunkie's email. On just needs to click "enable templated email" and enter the text.

And I pasted the formatted text from word and it comes out nicely in the email.

Lastly, I tested with a few emails and the thank-you email does not end up in junk mail, but of course the length may cause an issue with other email providers.

Note that checking Enable Templated Email is not necessary to add custom text to the product's thank-you email message. If you leave it unchecked, whatever you enter in the Email Message field would be added to our standard greeting and link presentation for download items.

If you do checkmark it, whatever you enter in the Email Message field would REPLACE our standard greeting and link, so the custom Email Message you provide should include the template tag [%download_link%] (ideally on a line by itself) wherever you want us to insert a link to the buyer's download page.
