Hi,

I just tried paying my affiliates via the masspay.txt file and it doesn't work. I always get the following error when entering it in Paypal:

This mass payment cannot be processed because there is an error in the file format. Please make sure that the file is tab-delimited and that each entry has a corresponding email address, payment amount, and currency code. In addition, please specify only one type of currency per Mass Payment file. The error occurred on line 1, and the text of that line is: "content of line1"

Nothing of what this error says appears to be wrong in the file and I already tried many different variations with no success.

Please help!

Thanks

Go ahead and get a fresh masspay.txt file from Seller Admin and try again; if you still have a problem, let us know and also report the error to PayPal support.

Yes, I already had contacted Paypal and they have just responded. Seems like this is a problem on their part.

1 month later

I'm ready to do my first masspay, and I downloaded the file from e-junkie, but it isn't in the format described by PayPal at https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_batch-payment-format. They say the format is e-mail [tab] amount [tab] currency.

But they one I got from you is e-mail [tab] percent [tab] currency [tab] affiliate link. At least that's what I think it's saying. It reads like this:

e-mail (I don't want to give it out) 0.25 USD 3502

(The amount to be paid is $3.75 and that's not in the file.)

I've made a new one, following PayPal's guidelines, but was wondering why there's a discrepancy.

Ellen

Our masspay.txt file does not include a percentage figure anywhere; each line is in the format:

email [tab] amount [tab] currency [tab] AffiliateID

...which exactly conforms to PayPal's specifications. Perhaps the commission payout amounts you are seeing in the file just happen to match your share percentage?

I had a look at our logs for your recent affiliate earnings, and there was only one affiliate-referred sale in July, where the affiliate earned $0.25. That same affiliate did earn $3.75 in June, but that would not be included in your masspay.txt file for July.

Yes, I finally figured that out. I didn't have a product for $1.00 so I couldn't figure it out, but then remembered I did have it at that price for a few hours while testing. Maybe I lost a lot of money!

Thanks,

Ellen
