Hi,

I am an extremely satisfied E-junkie merchant - but some of my affiliates are pushing for longer lasting cookies on the referral link. Their concern (which I fully understand) is that people are unlikely to make a purchase on their first visit to the site - and if they go directly back to the site on future visits then the link to the referring affiliate is lost and no commission is earned.

I do make it clear in the affiliate info I provide that this is the case, but as I'm eager to keep my affiliates happy I'd like to ask if there are anything in the pipeline at e-junkie that would address this issue.

With thanks for continued excellent service!

Our hop links normally set a referral cookie in the buyer's browser which expires 6 months after they click the link. Anything that buyer purchases from you during the lifespan of that cookie (even if they never click the affiliate's link again) will earn the referring affiliate your product-specific percentage for purchased items that have one, or your common percentage for any other purchased items.

If you wish to override that 6 month default cookie duration, you can specify a different duration for any given hop link you offer; just enter the number of days after the hop link's landing page URL setting, separated by a space -- e.g., if you want your Common Hop Links to set referral cookies that expire in a year, you'd enter this as your Common Hop Link landing page URL:

http://www.example.com/ 365

Bear in mind that buyers could always clear or delete cookies from their browser manually, or set their browser to expire or remove cookies when they close their browser, which would eliminate any referral cookies we'd set in their browser regardless of their expiration date.

This is good news, and will definitely please my Affiliates.

Thank you.
