I am already adding buyer email to a Mailchimp list automatically for a product. Now I want to launch another product and would like to know: is it possible to add buyers for that new product to another list in Mailchimp?

Yes, you can subscribe buyers to different MailChimp lists on an account-wide basis for all sales and on a product-specific basis for sales of that product.

To have all buyers subscribed to a given mailing list, paste your MailChimp integration URL for that list into Seller Admin > Account Preferences > Common Notification URL and click Submit to apply changes.

To have buyers of a certain product subscribed to a given list, edit the product to enable "Send transaction data to a URL" then click Next until you find the Payment Variable Information URL and paste your MailChimp integration URL for the desired list in there, then click Next until you can Submit changes. In this case, you could use a different URL for any/every product as you wish.

Hmm this is cool. I didn't know you could do that.

Are you aware of a way to add people just to a different segment of one list though?

If you have 20+ products it would be really confusing to have 20 lists.

If you could have one list with 20 segments though it would be amazing!

Any ideas?

We just transmit the full order data to whatever MailChimp integration URL(s) you specify; they then sift through that data to get the buyer's info and whatever other details may be required to add the buyer to your list(s) there.

You would need to contact MailChimp to inquire whether they support segments within a single list and, if so, how to specify a segment when we submit the order data to them -- e.g., perhaps they may support this by including some parameter in the integration URL we submit the order data to, or by having the data parser at their end pick some additional details from the full order data.

Ah I see ok. I'll ask the MailChimp guys and if it's possible I'll add a comment back here with instructions for others.
