Hi!
Does the shopping cart software recognize VAT-exempt regions within countries that are generally VAT-liable? Maybe by post code or something?
For example, the Canary Islands (e.g. Tenerife) are part of Spain (which is a normal VAT country in the EU), but the Canary Islands are VAT exempt. I don't see that the shopping cart software addresses this. It looks like all l I can do is have the customer go through the normal checkout process and then send them a refund for the VAT that is charged.
This creates a lot of extra manual work (emailing to answer customers questions about the VAT policies, giving them their refund, etc.) not to mention that it creates extra work for my bookkeeping.
This isn't an urgent question, but I'd appreciate it if the Ejunkie team could let me know if there's a way for the software to take non-VATable regions of VAT countries into account.
Thanks,
Lori
