e-junkie is processing too slow on its buy now buttons and customers see the page limp along.

i need a buy now button directly to paypal.

is there code that can take me directly to paypal with e-junkie settings to make sure the correct item is purchased and responded to by e-junkie on the backend?

what problems might this cause me doing it this way?

i do see a page on paypal that lets us set the item name and item number, price, etc. and then creates code for us.

is that going to be a problem and if so what can hackers do to this if we don't use your site code?

we have the option of using the encrypted link.

do you know what i am talking about here and is this what you guys use to create this as well?

the only problem i see so far is that it does not check for out of stock. what other problems could there be?

lemonbaris there code that can take me directly to paypal with e-junkie settings to make sure the correct item is purchased and responded to by e-junkie on the backend?

That is essentially how our Buy Now buttons already operate.

lemonbari do see a page on paypal that lets us set the item name and item number, price, etc. and then creates code for us.

That would be for PayPal's own cart/buy-now service, which has nothing to do with ours. By going with their code examples, you would essentially be abandoning our services entirely.

FWIW, although our service has been operating at normal speed today (requiring only a fraction of our full-load capacity), I am aware of widespread routing glitches, bottlenecks and traffic jams across the Internet today -- Cox.net cable-internet subscribers in particular seem to have been rather harshly affected. Perhaps a major backbone provider had some issues today, which shunted more traffic onto other backbones which got more jammed than usual, etc. -- sorta like when a major arterial street gets closed due to a major accident or construction, so all the nearby side streets and minor arterials get jammed with the detoured traffic.

It is not abandoning your service at all.

When a payment comes into paypal you still get the notice and send out the 'stuff'.

After re-reading my posts above for context, does anybody know what problems doing this would cause?

I need someone that knows e-junkie well and in great detail to help me with this.

You can click on the E-junkie buy now button, when it shows loading .. press Escape and copy the code by viewing the source.. you can use that directly but that means that if we ever update our code, you'll be out of the loop and also if you ever change your product price or name or item number etc., you'll need to repeat this exercise.

Ok I tried that and saw the source. Doesn't taht have special created values on the spot for session type safety?

I used PayPal create buttons/code and got everything to setup right as far as I now.

But the questions still remain, what problems will this cause?

If the Title and Item Number are correct then it will trigger e-junkie to act on it right or is there some otehr type settings that must be in there?

Just as whenever I sell something on PayPal you get notice of it too even if it has nothing to do with e-junkie products. Isnt this right?

As I listed in the one-way discsussion above (lol) it seems that it is the same as buying on ebay. Quantity can't be checked of course.

What other problems am I going to cause doing it this way?

If you have our IPN URL in your PayPal settings, and if you have the item number, your PayPal email and the price right, E-junkie will process the sale.

This is not related to how things work for eBay, as eBay IPN has other variables which we look for too to ensure its from eBay.

Since this is not the recommened method of doing things, you are on your own if you run into any issues.

The price has to be correct also if creating it myself and outside of ebay? So you are saying if I set it up as a special reduced price then it wont transfer through?

What other problems might I encounter if these things are done correctly?

lemonbarThe price has to be correct also if creating it myself and outside of ebay?

Yes

lemonbarSo you are saying if I set it up as a special reduced price then it wont transfer through?

No, we won't process it.

lemonbarWhat other problems might I encounter if these things are done correctly?

I can't say .. that's why this is not a recommended method of doing it.

How/when is price checked? I was not aware of this until now.

How are the discount codes, and all the other reductions, dealt with then? That does not get passed to e-junkie after payment does it?

Alogn with the questions above...

E-junkieChef

I can't say .. that's why this is not a recommended method of doing it.

Doesn't make sense to me. You own the product. You should know what happens and can tell me what problems might arise, no?

Lemonbar, we know what happens when it's used the way it's supposed to be used. If you are using it without goign through our buttons, we can't say what issues you might face.
