Hi again guys,

I just tried to create a package that included 2 tangible items (a CD and a small T-shirt) with "add and affect inventory" turned on. I have the CD and shirt set up as separate products with inventory control on.

When I sell a package, it does adjust the inventory of the CD and the shirt, but if I set their inventories to 0, I don't get an out of stock message when I try to order a bundle. That means I could end up overselling. Is it supposed to work this way, or did I do something wrong?

If you need to look at the code in my ejunkie, they are the three products that start with the word "test" .

Thanks and cheers,

Lori

Thank you for reporting this bug. I've reproduced the problem behavior and will refer this to Development for correction.

Oooooh, I found a bug! I think it's my first ever  Any chance they'll get to it within the next couple of weeks? If not, I won't plan to incorporate packages when I'm setting up for my campaign that launches 3rd week of February.

Cheers,

Lori

Honestly, I can't predict when they'll be able to get this bug fixed, so I'd recommend setting up without package deals that would run afoul of it for now. I'll follow up here as soon as they inform me the bug is fixed.

12 days later

Hi again,

I was also hoping that the alert emails when the "included products" went to 5 or below would work. That would solve the problem!

Just did a test and I got an email for the PACKAGE, but not for the INCLUDED ITEMS. It's the stock levels of the included items that I need to keep tabs on, not the packages themselves.

Sorry to sound like a broken record, but is it supposed to work this way, or is it another bug?

Cheers,

Lori

As far as I know, you should get a low-inventory notification email whenever any product's inventory in stock reaches 5 units or fewer, but if that's not happening for constituent products when a package product that bundles them is sold, you may have found another bug, so I'll add that to my bug report.

I didn't get an email for my package purchase (put the stock level at 5). But when I then purchased one of the included items on its own (stock level to 4), I got the email. So a bug it must be indeed.
