Zip file and ipad

I've done a search for this topic and read everything on it but a lot of the posts were for previous years and I'm not sure if the info has changed. We (well my client, I'm her Virtual Assistant) have a zip file for download that has a bunch of PDF lessons in it.

As more and more people are using iPad's I'm doing more and more tech support for them. I'm not even sure where the zip file is going if you have an iPad. Some people have iZip or Winzip but say they can't find the zip file.

I do have a custom message but honestly, I'm not 100% sure what to tell them since I'm not sure if the zip file even downloads to their iPad. Can someone tell me where that zip file goes and how they can open it? Every day more and more of the purchasers are using an iPad.

I have an old iPad and when I download it I can't find it and I did a search of what I thought was my iPad (swiping in the middle of the screen) and typed in the exact title of the zip file and nothing is returned.

How do you all handle this?

The standard Safari browser on Apple iOS devices such as the iPhone and iPad will only download a given type of file if the device already has an app installed that can open that type of file -- e.g., it won't download a ZIP file unless the device has an app installed that can open ZIPs.

Apple iOS also has no general-purpose file storage; rather, each app has its own storage. When a buyer downloads your ZIP file, it would be stored in whatever app they selected to open the ZIP file when they downloaded the file in Safari.

Shouldn't this work now that the iOS Files app can open zip files? In Safari on my order page when I tap on "Click Here" to download button, nothing happens.

It looks like it is working now, testing a ZIP file download via Safari on iPhone did result in a save/open prompt with the Files app so that should work as long as the device and browser have been updated. If you're still having trouble with a test link let us know and we can try it from this end.
