Was there an outage today 29/05/20?

Hello,

I saw some delays today in E-junkie processing orders from ebay and sending emails. Times I noticed the delay between eBay sales and them first being processed by E-junkie (sale confirmation and product emails finally sent) were start 2:40pm and then 4:40pm AEST. Not sure what timezone the servers are in but thats:

12:40am EDT / 9:40pm (28/05) PDT --> 2:40am EDT / 11:40pm PDT (28/05)

I looked in the transactions log and the transaction date / timestamps are all around 5 mins of 2020-05-29 00:02:40 for 4 earlier transactions on eBay.

Was it an E-junkie issue or eBay?

Hi,

Very sorry for the trouble! There were no outages on our end at all and no other reports of eBay delays besides yours. It is possible there was an issue on eBay's end but to compensate for that each time we check their system we look back for any unprocessed orders as old as nine hours to make sure that nothing gets missed due to processing delays.

Just to clarify, all timestamps on our system are MST/PDT (GMT -7), and we check your eBay account every 5 minutes for any newly completed payments originating in the past 9 hours. This allows for any payment processing delays or temporary holds at eBay's end.

Thanks, so another example is happening now. I think I have caught it in the middle of it happening and eJunkie hasnt caught up yet. From my original issue above, I assume last time the transaction log in eJunkie caught up and put the original timestamp of the ebay sale in the records.

So at the moment what i can see is that I had a eBay sale at 3:24pm AEST (Sydney) 2nd June 2020 which is 10:24pm PDT 1st June 2020.

I have both the eBay sale confirmation and PayPal payment confirmation in my inbox and the sale shows up on my eBay and PayPal dashboards.

Its now 4:50pm AEST 2/6/20 which is 11:50pm PDT 1st June and the sale is not showing up in the eJunkie dashboard or transaction log. The product email hasnt been sent out etc as a result.

I took screenshots of what my ejunkie dashboard, transaction log, ebay and paypal transaction records looked like at 10:50pm PDT if you need them.

I think last time this happened, eJunkie picked up the transaction eventually but the email with the digital keys to the customer was of course delayed.

Update: Its now 5:08pm AEST 020620 / 12:08am PDT 020620 and the record is now showing up in ejunkie and email has been sent. So a delay somewhere.. ?

For eBay sales any delay beyond our 5-minute window would be at eBay's end -- e.g., perhaps it took them some time to finish processing the buyer's payment, or they may have detected something potentially fishy about the payment and put it on temporary hold for closer scrutiny, which they released after it passed their examination.
