Hi,

The VAT rate in France changed on the 01.01.2014 from 19,6% to 20%.

I modified the rate in the field "Sales Tax / VAT Rate" from 19,6% to 20% but my customer are still charged 19,6%

I suppose the VAT is automatically calculated depending on the country I mentioned in the field "Select the location of your business" (in my case France).

If yes it would mean you should change the rate in your settings, right?

Thanks for your support I am a little bit confused.

Regards

Johan

Yes, if you enable the option to Charge VAT in your Cart Sales Tax & VAT Settings, our system looks up the VAT rate to apply for the seller's and buyer's respective countries, regardless of any other tax settings on that screen.

Apparently the VAT rate update for France as of the new year escaped our notice somehow, so thank you for bringing this to our attention; I will refer this to Development who can update the rate in our system.

Thanks for your quick feedback.

OK. Please make the modification ASAP. I must pay the 0,4% gap from my own pocket.

Development updated the VAT rate for France last night. New rate tables for the broader EU should be published any day now, hopefully without too many other rate changes. Usually rate changes are planned enough in advance that we can get a time-delayed cutover in place ahead of time, but somehow this particular rate change escaped our notice, with our apologies for the inconvenience.
