Hi there,

e-junkie + Trepstar has been very good, it works well and had been a very cost effective way of getting DVD's to customers, but I've only been able to benefit for 2 months. The first month of that was trying to get things to work. Through January it has been smooth, and I'm sure it will remain a smooth operation in general.

But things have just changed quite dramatically financially.

Trepstar is US based. Most of my customers are European.

US postal service has just doubled their postal charge to Euro, this is reflected in the new costs of Trepstar orders.

I don't want to change from Trepstar cos they're good, so initially I'm trying to find a way so that US orders do not get charged shipping but any other country does.

Is this possible? I haven't fully understood the custom shipping rules you can set and produced some funny results when I tried. Do you know of a way to do this please?

But this is also a heads up to others that the Trepstar costs have just doubled for international tangible items. A priority (6-10 days) DVD-rom to the UK is now in the region of £20. So I'm looking at alternatives or a way to properly hone in on their changes from my cart a little better.

Do you perhaps intend to introduce European DVD fulfillment companies in the near future? That might help Euro folks like myself save some pennies. The more DVD items I can sell the more e-junkie product slots I rack up, I guess

Thanks!

ML

PS. Acutrack are US based too so I guess the same applies. Any idea of their costs? (They're not as open about it as Trepstar on their website)

You can set up a shipping rule for All Countries that would cover your typical shipping costs, then override that with rules for specific countries -- e.g., you could have a rule for Country:United States that applies a Flat rate of 0.00. This help page explains our shipping calculation settings in detail:

http://www.e-junkie.com/ej/help.shipping.htm

Acutrack has not disclosed their pricing model to us; apparently they prefer to quote rates in negotiation with their clients directly.

Regarding the potential for using other disc fulfillment services, most third-party services that work with E-junkie (including Trepstar and Acutrack) simply choose to support our standard custom/third-party Integration method:

http://www.e-junkie.com/ej/help.integration.htm

That method is designed to mimic the format of PayPal IPN (Instant Payment Notification), so any service that already supports PayPal IPN has already done most/all of the work required to support our standard Integration method. By the same token, if they don't already support PayPal IPN integration, doing the work to support our Integration method would also put them most/all of the way towards supporting PayPal IPN as well. The disc-fulfillment and other third-party services we list as compatible with E-junkie are simply those that have contacted us to confirm they support our standard Integration method and provided specific details for that regarding their service in particular.

If you can find a more conveniently located disc fulfillment service, especially one that specifically mentions they support PayPal integration, we'd recommend sending them the Integration link I provided above to inquire if they could support our PayPal IPN-style Integration method as well.

Thank you for the detailed info. I've been able to get the shipping thing sorted and will keep an eye out for others. But it seems almost ALL fulfillment services are US based, and I see a lot of call for a UK version or at least European ones. But of course, that's nothing to do with ejunkie capabilities.
