Tracking button clicks, checkout and conversions

I want to track with google tracking when someone clicks on one of my "add to cart buttons". So i take the code you provide, put in the conversion_id from google and place that on the pages with "add to cart" buttons. Do i also need to put the code google provides on those pages and if so would that not just show me when someone goes to that page and not when they click on a "add to cart" button. Please advise.

That will track each button click as well as checkout and conversions.
