Hi Ejunkie jedi masters,

Have discovered another glitch that is generating a lot of unnecessary emailing with concerned customers. I have the Thank You page set up to show customers the shipping address they've used, and asking them to please email me with corrections asap if necessary (soooo many people have the wrong address in their Paypal).

The encoding of the page seems to not show certain characters, or leave spaces. The address I see in Paypal is fine, but they end up emailing me worried about their address. The I have to check it with Paypal to be sure, and email them back saying that it's all OK and that the error was due to a limitation in the shopping cart software.

One of the problem characters seems to be č (in Polish addresses).

Any chance you could see to this, or let me know a workaround of some kind?

Thanks,

Lori

Cheers,

Adding the words missing or wrong characters in thank you email to this thread to make it easier to find in searches.

EDIT:

In my Paypal Seller account, the instructions on the help page did not match what I saw in Paypal. But after some digging around, here is what I had to do in case it helps anyone:

My account > Profile> click "More Options"

(New page loads)

Click "Selling preferences" on left side of page.

Look WAAAAY down at the bottom of page under "more selling tools"

click "PayPal button language encoding"

New page loads, click "more options"

That takes you to the UTF-8 settings.
