I am not sure what I am doing wrong.

I just tried to purchase something on my own site to see if PayPal and everything was working okay.

I tried to purchase a cheap item, one that had no variants. THe cart directed me to paypal, however, the cart did not give me any shipping methods to select from, nor did anything show up on paypal's checkout process.

Is this because the item I chose to purchase had no variants, which would have displayed the weight for it?

Need help, I need to get this website live.

Thanks in advance, Jason

okay, i figured out that i needed the box checked for shipping in the add product section.

Now, the shipping shows in the cart, but there is an --error-- displayed in the shipping box on the cart.

when i click update cart, then click on the pay now with paypal, a popup comes up that says select a valid country and enter valid zipcode. i have done that. and the entry is correct.

I tried deleting all my product add to cart buttons and the view cart buttons. Still same thing.

It keeps asking to enter a valid country and zip code. That's for all countries. The shipping box still shows -error-

figured it out. I had typed in 99999 on every column for the define package. I though that was what was needed if i was going to package everything together in one big package, no matter how many were shipped. USPS calculated it as 99999ounces, therefore, could not give a shipping cost.

But, I have another problem.

For example, I want to ship something to Canada. Shipping cost is $35 or so for shipping International Express, and that includes insurance up to $200.00. If my item is worth $500.00. it will cost an extra $2.35 to upgrade the insurance.

How does the cart calculate that?

I won't ship anything without the proper insurance paid.

I tried labeling that item that is above $200 to goto some sort of package container different from the rest and just make it cost $2.35 to offset the insurance, but, when another item is selected in the cost, it sees it as two packages and charges double the insurance cost. SO that didn't work.

Why is there no option for the added costs? Insurance, Certified Mail, etc? That should be fairly easy to configure into the programming I would think.

Is there a chance this could be added into the options of the final shipping costs? Even if we just have to put it in manually, it's better then nothing at all

Hello,

Sorry for the trouble, but shipping costs need to be manually defined. Our system cannot automatically decide what your costs are, but if you are in the US it is possible to get some basic shipping calculation costs from the USPS website. Anything else needs to be manually programmed into your account.

If you wish to use the USPS calculators these are based on the weight of items and the number of packages involved in an order. No other factors are considered, and we cannot get results for flat rate packaging or automatically include insurance upgrades.

If the USPS calculators alone are not sufficient for your needs you can add in extra handling costs or packaging costs to be included in addition to the quote from USPS. These costs will be added to all orders regardless of location, so if there is variation in the additional insurance cost you may want to average it out between your orders so that your costs are covered in the long run as opposed to being exact on every individual order.
