Hi guys,

I've been using a shipping method that one of your helpful moderators helped me figure out. Please refer to the past thread here: http://www.e-junkie.com/bb/topic/3071

Onto my problem.... I was adding a new product to my store today and while testing it I noticed that when I add a product into the cart and say that i'm from a overseas country it gives me a choice of a cheap shipping as a primary option & as a secondary choice (within a drop-down) it gives the proper shipping price. When a customer is ordering from overseas, I only want them to have the proper shipping quote, not an incorrect cheaper option.

I've never noticed this before, and i'm not sure how to fix it. Could you please help me out with a solution?

Thanks for all the help!

P.s. the website is at: http://www.tastysoil.com/store/storemain.html

It appears you have two Shipping Rules set up for Country:All Countries, so that is offering two different rates for non-US buyers. You have only one rule for Country:US, so that is overriding the All Countries rules to offer one rate for US buyers.

One All Countries rule is applying a custom rate of 1.10 per ounce, while the other rule looks up the rate for USPS Cheapest (First Class vs. Priority). Each of those rates separately get added to the Cost(s) you've specified for any Package Type(s) specified for items in the buyer's order, thereby arriving at the final choice of rates offered to non-US buyers.

To remove one of those rates, just go to Seller Admin > Cart Shipping Settings, then click Next to proceed to the shipping rules screen. When you select a rule in the Existing Shipping Rules menu, the calculation method for that rule is displayed just below the menu. Select the rule you wish to remove and click Delete, then Yes to confirm. Then just click Back to Admin, and you're done.

Thanks for the reply!

I want to make sure I don't break my international shipping rules i've set up.

Which rule should I delete to only give a single option when a customer is ordering something with international shipping? I don't mind if people ordering domestically have other shipping options.

Thanks again for the help!

Shipping rules for more-specific destinations automatically override rules for more-general destinations -- e.g., when the buyer's cart qualifies for any country-specific shipping rule(s), that would override any rule(s) you'd set up for All Countries.

When I looked at your shipping rules yesterday, you had only one rule defined for Country:US, so your US buyers would only ever be shown one shipping rate.

You also had two rules for Country:All, so your international buyers were being shown a choice of two rates; which one to delete is up to you, but the cheaper rate your cart is showing to int'l buyers would be from your custom 1.10 per oz. rule, and the more expensive rate is from the USPS Cheapest rule.
