Shouldn't the shipping options drop-down display until the user decides to check out? In other words, the user should have the option to change their shipping method as they add items to the cart.

I have configured several shipping rules (USPS cheapest, UPS, flat). Here is what happens.

1) I add an item to the cart, and the light box cart panel displays with a shipping choice drop down.

2) Continue shopping.

3) Add another item to the cart (or just view cart), the shipping is no longer editable, but is set to the value that was visible in the drop down after adding the first item to the cart.

On another note, the UPS option I have configured does not always display in that initial drop down - any idea why? I have it configured for all default cases (zero mins and maxes)

Thanks,

Heather

Could you provide the URL of your page where we can test this? Any instructions to reproduce the problem would help, such as which products to add in which order, which zipcode to use, etc.

It's possible that adding the additional item(s) are simply making the order ineligible for some of the Rules which were applicable when only the first item was in the cart; this would seem most likely if the missing rules reappear when you remove the additional items and leave only that first item in the cart again.

Thanks for the response!

I just added UPS option, and a Priority option for you, but neither of them are displaying. It is only showing the flat rate I set up. (I set up flat rates for weights as a workaround). Cleared my cookies/data and still no dropdown even on first cart visit.

I can tell you that it wasn't related to adding new items. If I added one item to the cart I saw the dropdown, went back to shop, then just viewed the cart, the drop down was no longer there.

My rules were originally set up with all default conditions. But right now, I have the flat rates for weights, and the UPS and Priority I just added but are not showing up. The UPS and Flat have all default values (no max/min weight or units or total constraints);

Let me know when you done checking out that URL and I will remove the UPS and Priority rules (even though they are not showing up, I only want to have them in place if they stay in the drop down)

Thanks!

The UPS Ground rate is not showing up because of a glitch in Seller Admin. Although we can only obtain UPS Ground rates for US locations, any Rule you set up for UPS Ground always gets saved with Country: All Countries (that's the glitch, which will be fixed in the next version of Admin). This means that if you create any other Rules with Country: United States, then whenever any of those Rules apply to an order, that will override the Rule for UPS Ground, because Rules for more-specific locations override Rules for more-general locations.

All the other Rules you currently have are set up with Min./Max. Order Weight thresholds, so the cart would automatically determine which Rule to apply based on the total weight of all items in the cart (including the empty weight you'd assigned to their Packaging Types). Since none of the Min./Max. thresholds for those Rules overlap, it's not possible for more than one Rule to apply to any order, so the cart does not offer buyers a selection of shipping rates.
