On closer investigation I realized this IS an e-junkie problem..the notification you sent has changed values...and i think paypal is not able to read this correctly....

Previously the shipping charges ALWAYS were posted in the e-junkie email notification under SHIPPING....(see example A1 and A2))

A1- Invoice: 800718859098198

E-junkie Internal Transaction ID: 9522923

Total: 25.93 USD (Inclusive of Shipping & Handling: 8.95 and Sales Tax & VAT: 0.00)

A2-

mc_shipping: 8.95

(HANDLING IS NOT EVEN LISTED IN THIS NOTIFICATION CODE) the amount always showed like this...under MC SHIPPING.

NOW, this information is displayed under HANDLING and SHIPPING is ZERO:

(B1)

mc_shipping: 0.00

mc_currency: USD

payer_status: verified

payment_fee: 2.21

address_status: confirmed

payment_gross: 65.85

address_zip: 08244

address_country_code: US

mc_handling: 10.95

(B2)

Total: 65.85 USD (Inclusive of Shipping & Handling: 10.95 and Sales Tax & VAT: 0.00)

Only the past 3 receipts from Paypal had this problem and when I go back to e-junkie rmail notification, I see the past 3 reflect the shipping/handling value under HANDLING instead of shipping.

HELP!

Paypal is looking into it..had to create ticket and are looking into it....thanks for your help

@barbarads 9 days later and I'm also still having this problem. Did paypal or e-junkie provide you with a solution?

Thanks

NOOOOOOOOOOOO...got on phone with a nice technical gent..but he said they had to give it to a special tech team and they were supposed to call me within 24 to 48 hours..NEVER CALLED and problem still exists..NICE FOLLOW UP..NOT! I guess I have to get on the phone with them again...so you are having the same problem? The calculations are correct..but on the email they send me..shipping and handling is set at 0. GRRRR

Let me know if you make any progress..I've not heard a word!

I have also reported the problem to PayPal, no response yet. If I click the transaction ID on the email payment notification message, to look at it in the PayPal site, the shipping price is shown but in the "packing" column, NOT the "shipping" column.

It appears to be a problem between the information e-junkie send to paypal, and how paypal then translates that info to the customers "notification of payment" email.

Never had this problem before (transactions pre 10 May were fine, transaction on 31 May showed the problem).

VERY FRUSTRATING!

Same here..it just started out of the blue..so i'm curious why....I hope someone figures it out soon!

I sell digital downloads. My customers are paying through Paypal but not receiving the links. And I am not receiving any transactions through Ejunkie. Please help!!

Shana, I'd start another link until this issue is resolved, so we can both track them separately..just a suggestion.

LUCKY YOU..our issue had not been resolved..it's def something between ejunkie and Paypal...i hope they figure it out soon..it's been over a week now, at least...

The delayed downloads issue was due to an IPN delay at PayPal's end, which we announced at the time in our System Status forum here:

http://www.e-junkie.com/bb/topic/5348

Back to the main topic at hand in this thread, at present we have to pass any calculated shipping amounts to PayPal as a 'handling' value, as 'shipping' values can only be applied during checkout on PayPal's site, not in the cart before checkout.

About a year ago, PayPal introduced a new shipping recalculation feature, where PayPal Standard checkouts could call back to our system to verify accurate shipping amounts based on the actual shipping address provided at checkout, so we started supported that. However, this new feature turned out to behave rather erratically in practice, so last winter we had to revert back to the old method of passing a pre-calculated shipping amount as 'handling' until things could get sorted out better.

Bear in mind, all the above only applies to PayPal Website Payments Standard, not Website Payments Pro, which uses an entirely different method to handle the order data for checkout. If you noticed a change when you upgraded to Pro, or downgraded from Pro back to Standard, that would probably explain the matter.

I am only using PayPal Website Payments Standard, and the error only started happening mid May this year. Do you know of any changes at the e-junkie end or PayPal end that occurred in May?

Cheers

Same here..paypal standard..no changes..and this started happening in mid may for me too!!! prior to that..no problem..so toothfairy and i are having the very same problem and neither of us changed anything.........what's up?

Hm, we hadn't changed anything in mid-May that I'm aware of, but I'll ask Development to weigh in here if they did something subtle around then that they didn't consider significant enough to bring to our attention but which may have any relevance to the issue you describe.

Meanwhile, just rely on your E-junkie Sale Notification email and/or Transaction Log for an accurate report of shipping charges calculated and other order details. When using PayPal with E-junkie, PayPal receipt emails and account history should only ever be considered as proof/notification of the fact a payment has been completed for a given total amount, not as a reference for a full breakdown of other order details.

This has never been resolved and it's quite annoying to have the paypal invoice with zero for shipping and handling. Paypal was supposed to send this to their MTS TEAM in JULY, and I was supposed to hear back in 24 hours..NEVER DID! At this point, I'm feeling really frustrated that no one has fixed this problem or addressed it. I obviously was not alone...there were others having this problem as well. I wrote to PP again...we'll see what happens, but you said you were going to look into it Guru..and I dont see anything posted since August 1 and I see Chris asking for an update end of August.

Thanks,

Barbara

Hm, last I'd heard from Development, we hadn't changed how we send Shipping charges to PayPal since last winter, so whatever caused the shipping amounts passed from our cart to vanish from PayPal's invoices starting around this past May could only be due to something at PayPal's end.

Paypal sent a note that the problem should now be fixed...but i won't know until i get an invoice...thanks! Crossing fingers
