Setting up Google Analtyics to Track E-Junkie Clicks

I've recently published an ebook and I use E-Junkie.com to distribute it and handle orders.



My main issue I want solved is I'd like to know what website a customer who purchased the ebook came from.



The link customers click on is an E-Junkie link which opens up a pop up order box.



I have Google Analytics set up so I can track how many people land on the thank you page, but I have no idea how to track where (what website) that person came from.



Any ideas?



Maybe there's another analytics program out there which can do this?

Have you also added the Google Analytics tracking code to your sales pages? If you are using E-junkie View Cart and Add to Cart buttons (rather than Buy Now buttons), see this page to take advantage of our cart's built-in GA tracking features:

If you are posting your purchase buttons to a variety of different sites and want to see which site referred a given sale, you can also add &custom=WhateverYouWant to your purchase button href= URLs, and make that value different on each sales page to identify that page, then that value will be passed into the order and reported in your E-junkie Transaction Log. E.g., Buy Now button code with a custom value would look like this:

I'm using the Buy Now buttons.



What would be nice is if in my Google Analytics I can see what site referred a given person who landed on my thank you page.



Is that possible that you know of?

The special GA tracking code we provide on our Tracking help page will only work if you are using Cart buttons with our standard overlay-style cart, and in that case you also would not add any tracking code to the thank-you page.



To use Google Analytics tracking with a Buy Now button, you would need to add the standard GA tracking code (not our special version) into your own page (where you have the Buy Now button), as well as adding it into your thank-you page. This should allow you to track where sales are originating from. You may find this FAQ page helpful to understand how the process works:
