I had a transaction get sent, then reversed.

Did the download link get sent?

In my Transaction Logs -- It said there was 1 attempt.

In the "Amount" column it is a number that's much different from the rest, not sure why.

Is there a way to prevent a download when someone reverses immediately?

I used to have such problems too. When a user is misusing pending payments to get a download link, the only way to prevent is to go to "Edit Payment Preferences" and check the box for "Wait for pending payments to clear". Also, I deactivated the "let buyers edit quantity" box in the product details. Another additional option in Paypal is to refuse any transactions that are "open" (not instantly cleared like debit cards, e-checks, etc.)

Thanks Catgirl very helpful.

The pending payments handles e-checks great, but it doesn't handle a reverse transaction after the product is downloaded.

So someone might make a fake paypal account with fraudulent information, get what they need, then reverse the order.

Hard to avoid that if you are not selling software.

The order has to be completed by PayPal before we are notified of the completed order and a buyer is given access to the download link. If after downloading the product from you, the buyer then reverse the transaction or request a refund, there is not a way to take the product back. The link would be deactivated after the reversal.
