I sell most of my products as redirected URLs of Software downloads. About 20% of customers report strange names of of the files without the .exe at the end of the product name after they download. For example ProductName.exe after download is ProductName783478303949&90849339 and when they try install the file is not associated with any program for them run the installer with. Any help with this would be appreciated.

Hi Tom,



I was not able to replicate this error when testing some of the links in your transactions log, but I would guess that this could be a result of using Redirection to lead directly to file names, because we append other information to the end of the URL during redirection.



Is there a specific reason you are using Redirection as opposed to Single File Download? Your account already allows you to use these file addresses for downloads through our system as opposed to sending people to make the download from your site. Just check the Single File Download box and enter the file address as the Remote File URL as opposed to a file URL. See here:

If you absolutely have to use Redirection instead try sending buyers to a download page that contains the file link so that nothing else is added to the end of the file URL.
