Hello,

First off: many apologies if this question has been asked before - I performed a quick search earlier, but was unable to find an answer to my questions.

I would very much like to use e-junkie as a means to sell my website templates - specifically: WordPress themes. However, ideally, I would like for users to only have access to a year's worth of updates. So, once the year is up, they would be required to either renew their service or purchase the product a second time. Would this be at all possible? Would I be able to define a certain amount of time whereby a user will have access to a file? It is something of a deal-breaker for me, I'm afraid. If there is a similar way of accomplishing a yearly subscription then I am all ears.

I would also like for users to be able to gain access to the latest version of my templates using their existing download links; now, and perhaps I am mistaken, but it is to my understanding that when a user makes a purchase of a digital product through e-junkie, they are greeted with an email containing a download link for their product. Is there any way for this link to always reflect the latest available version I upload to my e-junkie account? I do hope I worded this clearly enough.

I thank you for reading and I look forward to hearing from you. Cheers!

Steve

The download links we issue to buyers would indeed download the most current file you have uploaded for the product they purchased.

However, our links are designed for one-shot purchases where the buyer pays and then claims their download, and that's it. You can only allow up to a maximum of 9 Attempts per download link, although you can set a time limit of 8760 hours (whichever limit comes first). If a buyer uses up their Attempts before the year is up, you can re-activate their link, but that would also reset their Hours limit along with their Attempts limit.

Thank you for your response. That's a real shame about the maximum download attempted being capped at 9. Is there any chance I could personally request that this limit be removed for my account? Now that you have confirmed that I am able to issue download access to a yearly basis, I am very eager to use e-Junkie as my vendor of choice.

The only thing that is holding me back is the limit imposed on the amount of times a file can be downloaded. I've loved everything about e-Junkie since using the trial an would be very eager to sign up immediately if we could only get past that download limit. Any suggestions? Or is there nothing that can be done? Could I perhaps private message you my email or account details to work something out regarding this limit?

Thanks again for looking into this.

Steve

Hi Steve,

There is no way to increase or remove the download attempt cap, that would work against the purpose of issuing expiring download links to begin with -- your buyers would not only be able to make unlimited downloads through that link, but so could anyone else that the buyer shared the download link with.

As an alternative we do have a Newsletter and Update service that will allow you to send out a mass email to all of your previous buyers with a completely new download link for the current version of your file, you can read about that here:

Hi Steve,

what if you integrate users to a members only site under WP where they wil have all links to your themes just for a year... then if they would like to continue they pay once again?
