I sent a link to receive a link to receive a free download if my book, but the automated email doesn't include a link. What should I do?

Edit your product settings and un-tick the box to Enable Templated Email, so your product's custom Email Message will merely be added to our standard greeting and link presentation.

If you prefer to completely override our standard greeting/link, you can keep Enable Templated Email checked and use the template tag [%download_link%] where you want the link to appear (ideally on a line by itself) in your custom Email Message template.

So, I just place the [%download_link%] anywhere in my custom email message temp? Thanks for responding.

Yes, just keep Enable Templated Email checked, and place the [%download_link%] template tag wherever you want the link to be inserted. We'd recommend putting it on a line by itself, preceded by some text telling the buyer what it's for, like so:

You can download your purchase here:

[%download_link%]

Is there a way I can test the email and download link to see how it works? My customer didn't get his ebook download as well. Thanks!

You can use "Send free download link" in your Seller Admin to issue yourself a test link. If you leave the Email Message field blank there, we'd just send the product's standard thank-you email, same as we would send for an actual order.

Actual orders also get sent a Common Thank-you Email, which does not get sent for a free link. You can customize or disable this message in Seller Admin > Edit Preferences. This help page explains how to place test orders with or without payment:

It looks like your settings are correct to send both a product-specific and Common thank-you email, so if the buyer has not found theirs yet, ask them to check their Spam folder. Also bear in mind some email providers (Yahoo!mail in particular) can often have delivery delays of up to an hour or more, so it may be just a matter of patience until the email finally shows up.
