Possible to combine discounts?

It's me again! I refuse to go away!

We have seven downloadable files.

We have a price if you buy them individually. And a discounted price if you buy the whole set.

We want to offer users of certain websites a promo code for an additional 10-percent discount on both individual guides and package sets.

But when the promo code is used, it cancels the package price.

Is there anyway to make both discounts work together?

OK, should have looked around a bit first. I see from other queries that there can only be one cart-wide discount.

It would be possible to create an eighth product that bundles all of the previous seven ones into one single product with its own set price, which can then simply be less than the price of buying the original seven individually. That would eliminate the need for a special set discount, and then this item would work with the new promo code.
