Hello,

I wonder if anyone can come up with a suggestion. I've only just set-up my E-Junkie account and am currently running on the week's trial - in case that makes any difference to the answer.

I've got a single PDF product set-up so far with, so far as I can tell, all the correct settings to make the PDF stamping work (by which I mean I've checked 'Send transaction data to a URL' and the URL I've put in the next page is http://www.e-junkie.com/ecom/oplug.php?ej_stamp_pdf=true&pdf_allow_copy=y&pdf_allow_print=y). Also, I've made sure that the three PayPal settings (as listed here http://www.e-junkie.com/ej/selling-with-paypal.htm) are correct.

I've also set myself up a discount code which gives me 100% discount.

Going through the webpage I've set-up, if I order the book and put in the 100% discount code click on the checkout button to through the "free checkout", I get asked for my name and email address, if I click on OK and then confirm my details are OK, there's a bit of a pause and then I get given the download link and sure enough the PDF is stamped as I wanted.

On the other hand, if I don't put the discount code in and instead checkout through PayPal, once I click on the "Complete Purchase" button, the download link page comes up immediately and the PDF I get doesn't have the stamp.

Does this suggest anything in particular that I'm doing wrong?

Thanks,

SimonC.

Just wanted to clarify, I've setup no passwords on the PDF.

That's odd, if you got a stamped file from the Free Checkout then you set everything up correctly and you should also have received a stamped file from your PayPal transaction.

I just tested the download link from the PayPal transaction myself and it came through stamped this time. After checking with development it could be that our stamper had not yet finished updating the PDF at the time of your first download so our system sent an unstamped copy--which is very unusual but not impossible under certain circumstances. Perhaps you accessed your download link too quickly or there was a delay in getting the transaction information to the stamper for some reason.

It probably won't happen again, but if you want to it would be possible to add a little extra time to the delivery of the download so that the stamper will always be able to finish before the buyer gets their download link.

To do this, disable your Common Thank You email by going to Seller Admin > Edit Account Preferences and clearing out the subject and body fields for that email.

Bring up your PDF product in Seller Admin > View/Edit/Delete Products. If you have not changed the email for this product nor checked the "Enable Templated Email" box you can skip this paragraph. By default, every product that contains a download sends out its own thank you email in addition to the one sent as the Common Thank You that you just disabled. If you have "Enable Templated Email" checked off on a product with no message entered then the product specific email is also disabled. You can re-enable it by unchecking the Templated Email box or by entering your own email message. Be sure that you include the [%download_link%] tag if you use your own message for the product email.

Create a new page on your site to replace the standard Thank You page we direct your buyers to after a sale. On this new page include a message that your buyer will be receiving an email with a link to their file--the product specific email that is sent out will include a link to a different page where the buyer can download the PDF, and the extra few moments for the email to arrive should give our stamper the buffer it needs if it is delayed for any reason. Enter the link for this new page as your Common Thank You Page URL in Seller Admin > Edit Account Preferences.

Note that this isn't something you HAVE to do, I would not expect that you would see this particular thing happen again, but if you want to avoid it completely just in case this would be the way to go.
