I understand that if I use pdf stamping and later I upload a new version of the pdf ebook, the buyer will have access to the new version (via the original "click here" link) but it won't be stamped. The only way to get it stamped is for the user to check the item out again. I think that is correct. My question is, is there anyway to get new versions of the pdf file stamped? Perhaps a buyer would receive a promotion code when they first purchase the ebook which they could then later on use to get a free update when a new version is released, would that work?

Thanks

Hello,

Unfortunately PDF stamping and updates are not compatible with each other. The actual truth is that a buyer who has purchased a stamped file will always get that original stamped file from their download link regardless of any new versions of that file you may have uploaded since then.

If you do need to update your buyers you can use our Newsletter/Update service to send each buyer on your list an email with a fresh download link, but to do that you will have to at least temporarily disable PDF stamping. That means the updated files will not be stamped at all.

You could instead create discount codes for previous buyers to make a new purchase of that updated file with a 100% discount... that would get them a stamped copy but your ability to do this would be limited by the amount of free checkouts your account can process daily, which will probably be about 100 per day depending on your subscription.

Thanks for the quick reply. I've been trying to figure a way round it but looks like there isn't a solution at present.
