PayPal has announced planned downtime for maintenance Thu26May2011, 11-11:30PM PDT, which may affect your buyers' ability to use PayPal for checkout during this half-hour time frame:

NOTIFICATION: We will be performing a system maintenance to improve the reliability and performance of our services. Please be advised that PayPal website ( https://www.paypal.com ) and PayPal Adaptive APIs will experience a service interruption for up to 25 minutes. During this time the majority of API requests will not complete and will fail with error code 520002 (Internal Error) or time out.



Attempts to log in to PayPal will result in an error message. This includes log in to www.paypal.com , using Mobile Payments Library (MPL), and Mobile PayPal Application on both iPhone and Android.

REMINDER: This is a reminder that we will be performing system maintenance to improve the reliability and quality of our services starting May 26, 11:00 PM PDT (May 27, 6:00 AM GMT). Please note that the corrected maintenance end time is May 27, 1:00 AM PDT (May 27, 8:00 AM GMT).



During this maintenance window we are expecting to have PLANNED DOWNTIME of approximately 25 min which is expected to take place sometime between May 26, 11:00 PM PDT (May 27, 6:00 AM GMT) and May 27, 1:00 AM PDT (May 27, 8:00 AM GMT). As a result, merchants will not be able to process transactions during this time.



During the planned downtime window, the PayPal website ( https://www.paypal.com ) and PayPal APIs (including Express Checkout) will experience a service interruption and buyers attempting to make payments will be unable to do so. We expect that the majority of API requests will not complete and will fail with error 10001 (Internal Error) or time out. Attempts to log in to www.paypal.com will result in an error message.



Other services that will be down during this maintenance include:

* Website Payments Pro Payflow Edition - API requests submitted during the planned downtime window, will not complete and may fail with errors 1000 (Generic host error), 102 (Processor not available), 104 (Timeout waiting for processor response), 109 (Timeout waiting for host response)

* Batch Processing (batch.paypal.com) - processing of batch requests submitted between May 26, 10:00 PM PDT (May 27, 5:00 AM GMT) and May 27, 1:30 AM PDT (May 27, 8:30 AM GMT) will be delayed.



We will send an update right before the start of the service interruption and another one when our services are back up.
