Hi, a buyer paid through PayPal but didn't get a download (they emailed & I sent them a free code).

In PayPal I see the PayPal transaction ID & an e-junkie invoice id (1bidcyn...). However, I can't find any record of the transaction or buyer in the e-junkie transaction history.

Is this just a one-time glitch? I've sold many copies of the product normally. I'm wondering if there's some way to troubleshoot/lookup what happened to avoid this in the future. Thanks.

Hi everybody,

I have the same problem as Kalid. Had some sales this morning and always had to send the file manually.

Will there be a fix soon?

Kind regards,

Simon

Yes this problem started few hours ago.

I don't want to manually send it to the customers and then e-junkie will send it again (twice).

What's going on?

Check your PayPal account. Under History -> IPN History.

You will see that you have IPNs in status retrying.

HTTP response code: 500

Delivery status: Retrying

Once they bring back the server it should be processed. If you processed it manually, be careful not to reprocess it automatically once the server is back up.

In the mean while: call the support hotline and leave a VM.

Yes, thanks for the fast response! That was the issue for me.

Out of curiosity, how do you prevent the automatic processing of the transaction? (Since I processed one of my transactions manually).

I am having same problem (with Paypal, this seems to be a quarterly occurence).

What you can do is send out a free link, then block the seller. This way when the IPN comes thorugh, you won't resend your item.

Once everything clears & catches up, you can remove from blocked sellers list.

Hope this helps.

PayPal IPN is down and we have informed them about the issue.

Who is "them"? This seems to be an e-junkie problem.

My IPNs are still retrying...

I've received an order confirmation just now for an order paid 20 minutes ago, but have not received confirmations for orders paid for several hours ago - do they usually resolve their IPNs starting with the newer ones first?

Here's my guess: I have a payment which occurred 3.5 hours ago. The IPN did 11 retries in that time. This means it will retry every 20 minutes or so. It should happen in the next half hour.

Them is PayPal. And no, this was a PayPal issue. It's not been resolved but a workaround has been offered and we are using that now. You can follow threads and see PayPal live site status at http://developer.paypal-portal.com/pdn/

I'm having a similar problem, but with a slightly different end result. An e-check payment cleared today from a purchase that was made through E-junkie 5 days ago and now there is no record of the purchase in E-junkie.

Just to clarify our role, we can only process a sale once we receive the IPN from PayPal confirming a completed payment; if their IPN is delayed or even dropped, our system has no way of logging or processing the order. This forum post explaining the process in layman's terms may give you a clearer picture of how things work (you can ignore the first paragraph about a specific issue we were discussing there):

PayPal should now be caught up with any backlogged IPNs resulting from their recent issue; if you are still seeing payments logged with Completed status in your PayPal account history which are not in your E-junkie Transaction Log, see this page for troubleshooting tips:
