The email 'Notification of an Instant Payment Received' from paypal showed up in my email right away. however, e-junkie didn't ship it for another 15 minutes or so.

Did paypal take that long to notify you after they already notified me? that doesnt make sense.

IPNs are not instant sometimes, especially for eBay sales.

But PayPal notified me with an email within seconds.

Aer you saying that even though PayPal notified me right away that they don't notify you right away?

I would think that they would process both of those transactions at the same time. It took over 15 more minutes for e-junkie to process my sale after that.

Yes, that's what I am saying.

PayPal notification email and PayPal IPN are 2 different things. There is no relation between the response time of both.

I have to say that is terrible on PayPals part. It makes no sense that payment is taken AND an email is sent out for notification BUT they can't simply send the IPNs out?

Unless there is something like rocket science behind creating an IPN and I'm missing something I can't see why PayPal has this problem.

Maybe I should have something that parses the notifications instead on my server lol.

I don't really see how setting up anything on your server will help in case of a delayed IPN

That was a joke, sort of.

Also, you really don't understand that comment/joke?
