I am not sure what happens here but I am trying to get one digital product for sale and all seemed to work fine until I tested with a real purchase...

Basically, when using the pay using credit card in the standard paypal checkout, after pressing the Pay Now button takes me to a "thanks for your order page" still on paypal where there is a button saying "COMPLETE PURCHASE"

Once I press on that one it takes me to a fatfreecartpro.com page saying that "The payment processor has not yet informed us about your payment. Your order will be processed as soon as they inform us about the payment."

In the same time, the emails with the confirmation and download link were properly sent to the buyer!

It seems that is something I am doing wrong but I am not sure what...

Thanks,

Anton

If you can find the order in your E-junkie Seller Admin > Transaction Log, that indicates we did process that sale, including issuing a thank-you email and download link to the buyer. If you did not see the order in your Transaction Log, this troubleshooting page would help you track down the reason for that:

Sometimes it can take PayPal longer to complete processing the payment, and to notify our system of that, than it takes for the buyer to finish checkout; eCheck payments in particular can take several days to complete, since the banks handle those just like a real, paper check. If the buyer clicks the "complete purchase" link before PayPal notifies our system of completed payment, the buyer would see that generic thank-you page you quoted. Once PayPal confirms the payment to us, then we log the order, issue download links and email confirmations to you and the buyer.

If you want to make sure that buyers can always claim their download immediately after finishing checkout regardless of whether PayPal has finished processing the payment or notified us of that, you can go into your Seller Admin > Payment Preferences and UNcheck the "Wait for pending payments" settings. Bear in mind that by disabling that setting, you would assume all risk of any payments eventually failing after the buyer has already claimed their download.

Thanks for the quick reply but this still seems to me a bit weird. I understand that it takes Paypal a bit to notify e-junkie but on one of my trials I waited until all the emails were received, including the download link and the paypal payment confirmation and then i've pressed the "Complete Purchase" button to arrive at the same page... This definitely shows that e-junkie received the payment confirmation from paypal as it sent the download link but still didn't resolve the request properly. Am I wrong here?

My only concern is that people will be worried seeing that page thus having an unpleasant experience buying from my site!

Thanks,

Anton

Hello - We are having the same experience with our PayPal payments. We do not want to UNcheck the Payment Preferences for the "Wait for pending payments" settings.

That said, is there a way to change the language to better explain what is happening?

SmartBrief: it's not clear which problem you are having, so have you already gone through our PayPal troubleshooting routine?

8http://www.e-junkie.com/ej/trouble.paypal.completed-order-not-processed.htm8

Those instructions solve the most common problems where PayPal shows a completed payment but E-junkie does not appear to have processed the order -- i.e., if the order does not appear in your E-junkie Seller Admin > Transaction Log, no thank-you emails sent with a link to the download page, clicking Complete Purchase after checkout leads to our generic thank-you page saying "The payment processor has not yet informed us about your payment..."

Now, if you have already done all that, and you are having the specific problem where:

- You are testing your own cart with PayPal checkout;

- You complete a PayPal checkout and reach the Complete Purchase button, BUT...

- Instead of clicking through that button, you hold that page open in a browser window while you wait for E-junkie-generated thank-you emails to arrive;

- Those emails DO arrive, and you DO see that order in your E-junkie Transaction Log, and the links in the emails DO bring up the E-junkie-generated thank-you page with a working download link;

- ONLY THEN, you bring back up the window you were holding open with the Complete Purchase button;

- Finally, clicking that button at that point in time still leads to the generic thank-you page saying, "The payment processor has not yet informed us about your payment..."

In that specific case, please email some affected transaction IDs to Support for our Development team to research further:

https://www.e-junkie.com/ej/contact.php

This seems to be a wide spread issue:

I tried e-junkie's own demo buy now button:

https://www.e-junkie.com/ecom/gb.php?i=1&c=single&cl=37

Located at: http://www.e-junkie.com/ej/demo.htm

No luck...

The emails come in fine, however the generic thank-you page still shows (yes, after waiting until the email arrived, and until the order arrived in the transaction log).

I'm guessing one of the main reasons why you aren't having a ton of people complaining about this issue is because nobody buys their own products. They'll never see the issue. They set it up once, and forget about it.

Any possible fix?

P.S. I still think e-junkie is BY FAR the best digital delivery (plus much more) service around. BY FAR! Very reliable, and operated by people who really know what their doing. I have sold over 10,000 ebooks with you guys, couldn't have done it with out e-junkie.

There does now appear to be an ongoing but very occasional, sporadic problem at PayPal's end, where their system is sometimes dropping the Transaction ID which they should be appending to the thank-you page URL when the buyer clicks the Complete Purchase button.

If PayPal doesn't append that ID to the URL where they send the buyer, our system has no way of knowing which order's thank-you page to display to that buyer, so we can only serve up that generic "payment processor has not yet informed us" page. Unfortunately, this means there's nothing we can to to fix or work around the problem, aside from continuing to hound PayPal's Development team about this issue at their end.

This is yet another reason we send buyers a thank-you email with a proper link to their order's thank-you/download page, in case PayPal drops the ball somewhere during the transition from checkout to thank-you page.
