Password displayed as an " * " is longer than entered

I have is on "profile settings" the password that appear in stars is far longer than the password I use to login. When I change it and submit to my login password, it is accepted but then if I check it a few minutes later, it has reverted back to the original.

That does not matter. We just display fixed length * for security.
