Pass the "cbt" Paypal variable

Hi,



With Paypal Standard, the buyer has to click on their "Return to Merchant website" button at the end of the transaction.

Problem:

1) Many people do not know they have to do it to process, and they wait passively for a download to happen automatically.

2) For some of my products I need to display text in non-English languages.



Paypal told me to use their "cbt" variable to customize that text, and it works when I use their button.



Can I pass that variable in my e-junkie button, by adding: "&cbt=my_text" at the end of the URL?



I use that technique to control the Paypal language but I am not sure I can use it for the cbt variable.

I'm sorry, using our cart there is not a way to pass the language variable to PayPal at the time of the order.



Although we do not usually suggest using it, we do provide the option to use PayPal Cart buttons that we provide with E-junkie. These buttons will allow you to setup language variables:

The Buy Now buttons we provide will also not be able to transfer the PayPal language variable, I'm sorry.

I do transfer the Country variable in the eJunkie Buy Now button (as per explained in one of your posts).



The cbt variable is not the language code, it is the button text code: the text that is displayed by Paypal on their button that says by default "Return to merchant" after you have paid.



Do you have a list of what Paypal variables can be transferred in the eJunkie Buy Now button code?

This help page explains how PayPal determines which language to display on their checkout site, and how to 'force' an initial language selection if you use our Buy Now buttons for PayPal:

Some parameters that work with PayPal's own Buy Now buttons can also work with E-junkie Buy Now buttons for PayPal; we haven't really tested this extensively and so can't say with any certainty what will or won't work, but you're welcome to experiment for yourself and see what works for you. E.g., you could test the 'cbt' variable like so:
