Hi there,

I was wondering if there was a way to include a text box for buyers to be able write in special instructions in the shopping cart before they submit their order. For example, I'd like to offer a buy 1, get 1 of something else free deal, and have customer be able to specify what they want for free in the box.

Thanks for your help!

You could add options to the product with the Variations feature, perhaps including a drop down list of the free item they can get in conjunction with the product they are ordering or even including a text field where the buyer can type something in.

This isn't really an ideal solution if you are trying to give away a separate product for free, however. Entering an option will not actually add another product to the cart but if you are dealing in tangible goods and not tracking inventory having an option that lets you know what else to include with an item when it ships could work.

Our variations help page is here:

I'd really like this feature as well. Not as a variation, but as an additional field in the shopping cart.

For example: For the entire order, they need to give me special instructions like: Please seat us with these people. or This delivery needs to be left with a callback for special spellings, etc...

Any hope of getting this feature in the future?

I will pass on this suggestion to our development team for consideration.
