Hi guys,

You know what would be a real simple and great feature? Having checkout links that hide the "Discount Code" box. Or allowing affiliates to disable the "Discount Code" box through a special URL parameter, like:

https://www.e-junkie.com/ecom/gb.php?cl=54585&c=ib&aff=34581&no-bs=1

I'm an affiliate and I tried something similar with an Avangate vendor and the number of sales increased noticeably. The revenue per sale increased too. The reason for this is as expected, buyers weren't reminded of the possibility of a discount so they weren't abandoning the checkout page to look for codes.

It would really be awesome if this were to be implemented in e-junkie.

Thanks a lot!

That's something we can put on our wishlist, although I recommend discussing this issue with the merchants you work with specifically since this would technically be a feature for their use and not yours as an affiliate.

@E-JunkieMonster, A merchant may want to have some affiliates who promote with discount codes and others who don't use discount codes. I would discuss this with the merchants that I work with, but what should I tell them -- e-junkie doesn't have this feature yet?

What you should discuss with them is their strategy for using discounts. The feature you suggest is not a bad one, but even if we did have it the choice to use it would actually be up to individual merchants rather than their affiliates.

For the time being though, the only way for there to be no discount code box is if there is no eligible discount that can be applied to the products in the shopping cart, and the only person who can control whether or not that is the case is the merchant themselves.

I'm happy that you think my idea is worth looking further into.

It's a hard sell convincing merchants to remove all of their discount codes for me (and perhaps a few others). But once e-junkie implements the optional discount code box feature, it'll be easier to convince them to just enable it.

Thanks a lot!
