Is there any way whatsoever to change the link in the email to the downloadable product to display something other than .... www.e-junkie.com/ ....?

If I go for the $18/month option with that link change to my site instead?

Any chance you might change your name??

The link we provide is a unique link but needs to be located on our site. Even with the $18 per month plan, we mask the location of the file on your system by making it appear to be on our system.

We are not planing on changing our name.

Gosh, it only took 2 years and 10 days to get the answer to my question. :slight_smile:

@LtDan:

Apologies for our considerably delayed reply; I got hired a couple months after your original post, primarily to help E-junkie keep up with support requests, and we've hired others (such as Willy, aka "E-junkieNinja") since then as well. :^)

BTW, Development is planning to add some degree of support for an alternate domain name, but that will require considerable work to make possible, and it's not clear just how pervasive that option will be. At the very least, it should be possible to replace your button-code URLs with the alternate domain, but thank-you page URLs and download URLs may be another matter. We'll see what shakes out as practical to implement when Development tackles that project.

Thanks Guru. Glad to hear that support became a priority. I will watch for updates. My issue with the name is that junkie has such a negative connotation for a lot of folks. It is a word that just does not engender trust.

Funny thing is, we've NEVER heard from any actual buyers who object to our name, nor have we ever heard from any sellers reporting that any of their buyers complained about our name. The only people who ever contact us with reservations about our name are potential merchants considering our service, who don't have a problem with it themselves but worry about "what some other people might think". We've seen no reason to think there actually are any "other people" who personally have any actual concerns about our brand or about patronizing a business using our service.

Most people "get" the ironic joke in our name, and mind you, we've got quite a few religious organizations and devout merchants happily using our service without any qualms. By the time any buyer might possibly realize E-junkie was even involved in their purchase, they've already checked out and are in the midst of claiming their download. The word "junkie" has lost most of its old Beatnik-era connotations and now simply refers to finding something so compelling you just can't resist, and as a term has become so widespread and colloquial that even sweet little old grannies have been heard to call themselves a "bingo junkie", "soap opera junkie", "Bible junkie", etc.

With nearly 8000 merchants actively subscribed to use our service currently, and our explosive growth over the past couple years largely fueled by little more than good PR and exceedingly positive word of mouth, it's simply not in our interest to suddenly change our branding at this point. However, we recognize that some merchants may still want to hide our name, so we're looking into the alternative-domain solution as an option for those who still fret about "what some other people might think". :^)
