Hi,

Working with Item Discount Codes, and on my testing there's an error, "Invalid Discount Code."

I have the same three (3) Item Discount Codes applying to ALL products. But, I can only get one (1) of those Item Discount Codes to apply to ALL products, which explains the error.

Why am I limited to only one Item Discount Code that is the same for ALL products?

Thanks for your help!

I'm not quite clear about what you're trying to describe, but I'll explain some general tips to keep in mind. Only one Item Discount code can be applied to each item in the cart, plus one overall Cart Discount for the full order. The last code entered would be the one applied to the state of the buyer's cart.

E.g., suppose a buyer has 3 different items in their cart, and you have the same Item Discount code defined for all 3 products. When a buyer enters that code, the corresponding discount defined for each product in the cart will be applied for each item. If the buyer enters another Item Discount code that was only defined for 1 product, then that discount will be applied to just that item in place of the "common" discount initially applied, although the other items will still have that initial discount applied just to them.

Hey Tyson,

Thanks for your reply!

I understand your explanation. However, you can have more than one Item Discount Code for any product...I have three for one product, AND I can apply ALL of them, plus a Cart Discount Code during one transaction.

Sounds like your system has the ability, but it's not what eJunkie intended?

Too bad though. Do have other creative ways I can achieve my results? Let me try and explain with an example...

I've got a coupon on the back of my business card for $100 off. I also give $10 off for another action during the purchasing process. Lastly, if a prospect has completed a web survey they're entitled to an additional $50 discount. This scenario of three different discounts applies to all my products.

What it sounds like is that the eJunkie system limits only 2 discounts per product/per transaction.

If one can accomplish what I've done with one product (described in the first paragraph), why not write a couple lines of code to apply to all products? It would be great!

My two cents.

Thanks,

John

I have one discount code applied to one item, yet I'm getting the 'invalid code' message. I've deleted almost all other codes from my account to try to figure this out with no luck.
