I want to use E Junkie with Optimize Press (a wordpress theme). This theme has it's own pretty "buy now" buttons which I would like to use, but I want the heavy lifting to be done by E Junkie. Can I use the button from Optimize Press and have it work instead of using the E junkie Button?

Thanks!

Jess

Hi Jess,

We do work with Wordpress and you can swap out the images for our buttons, so you shouldn't run into any problems with the Optimize Press theme. Please see our help page here which covers the details about using our buttons with Wordpress software:

There's a great plugin for E-junkie on Wordpress that one of our users made that can help automate the process for you if you have WordPress 3.0.5 or earlier, it's linked in the page above. If that doesn't work out for you it will still be possible to manually insert our code, Wordpress tends to reformat it but using the Raw HTML plugin can help with that.

Hi,

I am not having any problems adding your buttons to my site. That has all worked very well and easily.

What I want to be able to do is use my Wordpress button images and have them link to my ejunkie product.

I think that means that somehow through the magic of html (which I don't know well), the button looks like my wordpress button, but when clicked it's connected to ejunkie, just the same way an ejunkie appearing button would be.

Does this make sense?

As far as I understand, the info you pointed me to was for adding ejunkie buttons, not connecting ejunkie functionality to a wordpress button.

Thanks,

Jess

The top of this help page explains how to modify your E-junkie button codes to replace our standard button image with any custom button image or text link you may prefer:

If you'd like some help setting that up, we can recommend the competent, E-junkie-experienced developers for hire listed at the Developer Directory link you can find at the very top of our site.

Hi,

Thank you. I played with it for a bit after posting this, and I was able to steal a section of html from the e-junkie code (that describes my product, I guess) and embed it into my button's code (the opposite of what the page helps me do.)

It seems to work. Is there any issue with doing it this way as long as it functions? I also plan to set up an affiliate program for this product, so I want to make sure this method won't give me any problems.

Thanks again,

Jess

If it works it works, you won't have anything to worry about. :)

Our code is actually very flexible, you don't need to use our images and you can format it just about any way you see fit so what you are describing isn't going to be a problem.

For the most part each button is a link back to our system with your account number and the product number so that we can look up your settings and respond accordingly. If you have included that part in the buttons you've set up on your site you won't lose affiliate features or anything like that.

If you see any odd behavior give us a link to your page and we can take a look at your code and make suggestions.

Hi Jess,

How did you get it to work, I'm struggling with the same thing.

Hi Kim,

I just happened upon this thread because I'm looking to do a similar thing again. I think what happened is I embedded the ejunkie code into the html of my button. I don't know code well, but it seemed obvious where to put it once I sat down and looked at it.

now I'm trying to see if my product cart has a link I can use for an unbounce page. . . anyone?

Hi Jessica and E-Junkie Guru,

Thanks for replying.

I wanted to use the pretty buttons that optimize press created on the fly but I could not get the code in there to make the dark background pop up so I had to create my own buttons and use their html option instead.

If I used only the button and the link I didn't get the screen darkening pop up but instead got a new page. It works now and I'm happy with it. I did hear back from Optimizepress after I did it and they basically said what I already knew which was there is no work around but to use their html in that area instead of their buttons. This is the resulting page I made. http://easydigitals.com/perfect-skies-digitals-backdrops-photoshop/

I have a question about integrating ejunkie with optimizemember. I seem to be having some problems and can't figure out why. My site just has the paypal button now because the ejunkie button does not work?

Is it as simple as grabbing the ejunkie button HTML code and putting it on your sales page or am I missing something? Thanks

Adding an E-junkie button to your site should just be a matter of copying the button code we provide for your product and pasting that code into your page, wherever you want the button to appear. In WordPress, you would do this in the Text tab of your page editor, which shows the raw HTML code of your page content. You may wish to type some placeholder text like XXXXXX in the Visual tab wherever you want the button to appear, so you can find that placeholder in the HTML code and replace it with your actual button code.

We are not familiar with OptimizeMember, and their online documentation for it is pretty spotty (I am guessing setup instructions are provided within your WordPress settings for OptimizeMember), so we can't tell whether E-junkie buttons will work to have members automatically added/renewed in your OptimizeMember system.

If OptimizeMember depends on manual IPN settings in your PayPal account for payment notification, E-junkie buttons send our own IPN requirements to PayPal for each order, which would override any manual IPN settings in your PayPal account; this is how our system receives payment notifications with the order data, so our system can process that order for you after payment. You could use our custom/third-party integration feature to have us forward the IPN data to your OptimizeMember IPN listener, but this may not work if that needs to receive the data directly from PayPal. We would suggest contacting OptimizeMember support with this link to inquire if they can work with this notification method:
