I recently integrated Google Checkout with e-junkie. I followed all instructions and things appeared to be fine. I also linked Google Adwords for tracking and applied code to my website. We have had several sales thru Google Checkout, but no Adwords tracking info.

I recently received an email from Google Checkout notifying me of a problem. Here is part of the email along with information about the problem:

Email - We've made several unsuccessful attempts to send order notifications to your notification callback URL, https://www.e-junkie.com/ gc/83132/ResponseHandler.php As a result, you aren't receiving order status, risk, or other notifications.

XML code that was sent by Google:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

<order-state-change-notification xmlns="http://checkout.google.com/schema/2" serial-number="866978976870319-00011-1">

<new-fulfillment-order-state>DELIVERED</new-fulfillment-order-state>

<new-financial-order-state>CHARGED</new-financial-order-state>

<previous-fulfillment-order-state>NEW</previous-fulfillment-order-state>

<previous-financial-order-state>CHARGED</previous-financial-order-state>

<timestamp>2010-01-28T14:56:10.494Z</timestamp>

<google-order-number>866978976870319</google-order-number>

</order-state-change-notification>

This same issue was posted for the last 12 orders. Can you offer any insight?

Thanks in advance,

Kevin

I'm getting this same thing from Google today. I've been using it for a couple of years and never got this email before. What's going on?

I am getting it too. sent email to support. hopefully they get things figured out quickly.

If you have recently added Google Checkout to your E-junkie cart, please double-check every step of our Integration requirements to make sure you haven't overlooked a step:

http://www.e-junkie.com/ej/google-checkout-shopping-cart.htm#help

Note in particular the API Callback URL and Method (XML), and click open the Advanced Settings section to make sure you have nothing checked in there.

If all that is fine, that's the extent of our involvement, so in that case any problems Google may be having when trying to notify our system of a completed payment would be due to an issue at their end.

Thanks Tyson,

I double checked the integration and everything is as instructed. I am less than impressed with Google checkout, they do not offer integrated shipping with USPS or UPS or even the ability to print packing slips, so it would not surprise me to learn that the problem is on Googles end. If you find out any additional info, please keep us posted.

BTW - Any feedback on your Mobo set-up?

There does seem to be some sort of issue at Google's end lately, as we've been getting sporadic reports recently from various merchants regarding an "unsuccessful attempts to contact the notification callback URL" message from Google, which cannot be explained by incorrect integration settings nor anything at our end. At any rate, it appears to be something out of our hands.

The Mobo's great so far, still fine-tuning the arm-mount positioning, noticed my elbows getting a tad sore, so thinking perhaps it could use a wee bit of padding on top of the main armrest covers, but that's about all I could suggest -- sure beats my old homebrew setup! :^)

after sending an initial email to the Google Checkout team regarding this, they replied back with a canned response. I replied back to them and they sent me this:

I've reviewed your merchant account and found that you've received errors

in the "Integration Console" link under the "Tools" tab of your account.

Error recorded is as follows :

"We encountered an error trying to access your server at

https://www.e-junkie.com/ gc/XXXXX/ResponseHandler.php [edited out account number - Ben] -- the error we got

is org.apache.commons.httpclient.ConnectTimeoutException: The host did not

accept the connection within timeout of 10000 ms"

In order to maintain a high-quality user experience, Google Checkout sets

aside 3 seconds for your service to perform its computations and send the

response. After that time elapses, if there isn't a complete response from

your service, Google Checkout uses the backup values you specified in the

cart:

http://code.google.com/apis/checkout/developer/GoogleCheckout_XML_API.html#default_shipping_and_tax_values

(if you're using merchant calculations for shipping or taxes) or Google

Checkout asks the buyer to try again (for merchant-calculated coupons or

gift certificates). You should specify average or typical rates for your

backup values. This requirement is described in Google Checkout Policies

and Guidelines:

There does seem to be some sort of issue at Google's end lately, as we've also checked with other e-commerce providers who report their merchants are also having similar problems with GC lately. At any rate, it appears to be something out of our hands, but our Lead Developer is bringing this up with some inside contacts on the Google Checkout team to make sure they're aware of the situation and see what can be done.
