I'm trying to understand how the affiliate program stuff works in e-junkie.

I set up our ads products to allow for affiliate earnings. I think I did this correctly. I set the earnings to be 50%. What I'm not understanding is how do affiliates promote a link? Are they given a link that can be placed in an email? Are they paid automatically at the time of the sale? If not, how does that work?

Once you get the affiliate sign-up link from E-junkie Seller Admin, you can create a page with instructions and the sign-up link on your site. You can also provide graphics that your affiliates can use.

Please see the following links as examples:

Affiliates sign-up using the sign-up link and get either direct link or a hop-link or both (depends on how you have configured your affiliate program) to sell your product.

Hop-link takes the prospective buyer to your site and direct link takes them directly to the payment processor.

After the month end, you can download the "masspay" file from E-junkie Seller Admin to pay your affiliates. The instructions and mass payment file can be viewed by going to E-junkie Seller Admin > Pay your affiliates.

I'm having a hard time getting my head around how all the affiliate/website/link stuff ties together. Sorry if this is a stupid question. . .

I made a landing page for my affiliates and entered that page's URL in the hoplink field. So if the affiliate uses the hoplink to send people to the landing page, how does the link from the BuyNow button on that page know which affiliate to give credit to? Does the affiliate have to add their affiliate number to the end of the BuyNow link?
