We have completed our pre-sale and are ready to let those customers who have purchased the pre-sale download the music now. No one has actually downloaded anything yet - they just paid us in order to get a download code for the product when it was ready.

How do I do this thru the newsletter?

Where do I put the zip file of the album so they can reach it?

How will the stored codes be worked into the newsletter update?

Can someone walk me thru this or point me to a tutorial so I can get this done?

Thanks!

Maureen

Go to Seller Admin > View/Edit/Delete Products, select your pre-sale product and click Edit. There on the first screen of product settings, make sure you enable the Single File Download setting, which should make an Upload Product File button appear -- use that button to upload the file you want to provide as the download for that product.

While you're on that screen, you should also edit the Item Name and Email Message if they mention anything about it being a "presale" product, since this will now become your actual album download product. You can also disable Send Stored Codes and Inventory Control, as well as Shipping/Buyer's Address if you don't need to obtain the buyer's street address. Then click next until you get to the screen with the Submit button. On that screen, edit or delete your custom Message (HTML) to reflect the fact that this is now an actual download product, then click Submit to apply your changes that product's settings.

Then go to Seller Admin > Send Updates / Newsletter:

- Step 1: Select the download product from that menu (do not select Newsletter).

- Step 2: Enter a custom Subject and Email Message explaining that this message provides a link to the download page for the pre-sale album they'd purchased (we recommend that you do NOT Enable Templated Email, so the message will include this link automatically, appearing just before your custom Email Message);

- Step 3: Select the download product as the Buyer Group list that should receive this Update message;

- Click Calculate Update Cost, then review and pay the required fee.

Once PayPal sends us confirmation that the fee payment has been completed, we will send out the Update email to all previous buyers of the pre-sale product (buyers who have received refunds will be excluded). Each recipient would click the link in their Update email to reach the thank-you page for that product, where they would download the product for free. You can view all the free download links you've issued in Seller Admin > View/Download Free Downloads Log, where you can tell how many download Attempts have been made on each recipient's link.

Okay, I did it this way, which was totally different than the original way I was told to do it - but I'm hoping it worked -

My main question is this - why when I sent out updates earlier today (which you said were not sent - but I was charged $1 for) was the cost only $1, but when I just paid for updates it cost $10.89? Quite a difference - please explain - here's a copy of my thank you page for reference:

Can you e-mail our support team with the transaction ID from PayPal for the $1 update you sent out so we can look into the issue with our billing team?
