Free Product Affiliate Notification

We offer a free product along with our paid items. When a user visits our site and downloads the free product via an affiliate link, the affiliate is notified via email of the sale. Obviously, the email is somewhat moot, because the affiliate has not earned anything. Is there a way to stop the affiliate sale notification for our free product?

There is not a way to keep the affiliate from getting an e-mail, even if the buyer goes through a free checkout. What you can do is bundle the free product with the purchased product or setup the download directly from your server and add the link to the free file's location on your server on to the thank you page for the paid product.

We have mailchimp integrated with ejunkie, and we like the fact that we capture the user's email address automatically when they download the free product. The user also needs the ability to download the free product without purchasing a paid product. So, we'll probably just leave it as-is, but thanks for the information.
