Is there a way to ask ONLY for an email address for FREE DOWNLOAD - without having to have them enter their "Name on Card" and "Company" ??

Company should always be optional. Name will always be required, but I've asked Development if they could change that label to something like "Your Full Name" for Free Checkouts where the buyer is not paying with a card.

You can also send anyone a free link manually using Send Free Download Link in your Seller Admin.

Yes, ty for the reply. "Company" definitely should be optional . . . and we should be able to customize the name, i.e. "First Name" only, or as you say, "Your Full Name" - with one field . . .

I agree , we mostly sell to private party downloads, or at least insert "optional" in company field. I know this post is old but I find people abandon their carts because this reason.

Turns out we already do show Full Name (rather than Name on Card) in Free Checkout for quite some time now, and Development has now added (optional) to the placeholder in the Company field. Also, required fields are highlighted with a colored outline, and Company is not among those.
